Kelley Hevessy, M.SC., BCBA – Behaviour Consultant/Program Manager
Kelley Hevessy found her interest in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) shortly after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2001. It was while working with her first client as a Behaviour Interventionist that she saw what a difference ABA could make in the lives of those with autism. In the years that followed, she gained experience in other fields, including Human Resources, but ended up returning to ABA, as she loves helping children learn and grow as individuals. She has experience with a variety of teaching methodologies including Precision Teaching, Direct Instruction, Verbal Behaviour, Discrete Trial Teaching, Pivotal Response Training, and Natural Environment Training.
Kelley completed an advanced certificate in ABA from Douglas College in 2014, at which point she met Judy Bui and began working with the group of colleagues, which would become Precision Learning Group. Upon earning her BCaBA, Kelley worked as a Lead Interventionist/Program Manager with several individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Kelley finished her Master’s Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis from St. Cloud University in 2017 and is a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). She has experience with children with autism up to age 12, and especially enjoys developing early language, teaching pragmatic language, and working on feeding skills. She has worked on in-home programs, in schools, and with students who are home-schooled, developing programs that teach a broad range of skills. She maintains memberships in the British Columbia Association of Applied Behaviour Analysis and Association for Behaviour Analysis International.
Her passion outside of work is spending time riding her horse. She also enjoys hiking, gardening, and traveling.
